Meet us

Hello new friend!
I am Theresa!
First, I just want to say Thank-you for clicking me into your world!
Double K Homestead life is about  sharing the homesteading journey with family, friends, and like-minded people.
We talk about gardening, canning, bees, sewing, soaping, recipes, and other things related to homesteading.  So whether you are a city dweller or live in a rural area you are in the right place to learn about the homestead lifestyle.  Because you see, homesteading  is not restricted to location.
We want to help you on your journey to become educated, to be a master of the skills, and to inspire you!  Plus, if you are into living life with a bit of nostalgia, then we are a match! If you are already living the life of a homesteader, awesome! Perhaps we can be the sauce for you if you are feeling challenged or need a little boost! My grandma used to say we can all learn from each other and we are in it all together!
My homestead journey really doesn’t have a start date.  I guess I have been learning different skills since an early age. I would probably say that I really became more interested in this lifestyle when we started a vegetable garden.  With the availability of all the platforms of learning, I dove right in and continue to be like a sponge.  There is always so much more to learn and I love it!
I am a wife of 32years, mom of two grown sons,  a grandma, dental assistant by day, homesteader by night, and my latest title PINK SISTER breast cancer WARRIOR fighting for the rest of my life.

I currently run, perhaps the same rat race as you, working and commuting BUT when I get home to our small acre produce farm we created in West Central Minnesota, the homesteading life begins.

Greetings!
I am Kraig.
I am the labor guy with lots of humor and I would say that my wife is CEO of all the happenings at the farm!
I love to be outdoors with gardening, managing the wildlife plots, fishing, hunting, and of course the never-ending work of mowing the acres in the summer. Wait, did I say I love mowing?  umm.  Maybe not when there are tons of mosquitoes in the hot humid summer.
I currently work full-time outside of the farm and I would have to say that life gets extremely busy.

We don’t always take the time to chill or vacation, but we do enjoy sitting on the front porch drinking some iced tea and reminiscing or planning the next homestead duty!
